Steer & report
From your own ledger to financial statements, adopted with four eyes.
Fiatto prepares the draft financial statements from the own ledger: balance sheet, profit and loss account, cash flow statement and notes, with comparative figures. A second person adopts them, the version is frozen, and your auditor works alongside in a read-only workspace.
The problem
Every year, the financial statements are rebuilt in Word and Excel.
Copying figures from the trial balance
Every item is copied from the accounts into a spreadsheet, and after every correction it starts again.
Notes that nobody checks
Whether all required notes are included is checked by hand at the very end.
Versions by email
Which version was adopted, and by whom, can no longer be traced afterwards.
Three steps
From ledger to adopted version.
Example · fictitious data
1 · Prepare
Prepared from the own ledger
Balance sheet, profit and loss account and cash flow statement come straight from the own Fiatto ledger, with last year's comparative figures. A size category test identifies micro, small or medium-sized, and you choose the framework: Dutch GAAP (RJ) or IFRS. Last year's financial statements can serve as a template for texts and accounting policies; amounts are never taken from them.
2 · Check
A notes checklist that fills itself in
The checklist reads the file and shows which notes apply and which are already covered. Reconciliations, such as the result to equity, are calculated. Under IFRS, the statement of compliance stays blocked as long as items are open.
3 · Adopt
Adopted with four eyes, then frozen
Whoever last edited the draft cannot adopt it themselves. The adopted version is frozen with a hash and recorded as a PDF. Your auditor works alongside in a read-only workspace and links the compilation report to exactly that version.
Questions about the financial statements
Do I need Fiatto's own ledger?
Yes. The financial statements are prepared from the own Fiatto ledger, which is included in the Complete plan. If you only use the accounting bridge, you prepare the financial statements in your own accounting system.
Does Fiatto file the financial statements with the Chamber of Commerce (KvK)?
No. Fiatto prepares iXBRL and XBRL files for the filing and records when they were filed, but does not file them itself.
Which legal entities does it work for?
For micro, small and medium-sized legal entities under BW 2 Title 9. There is no model for large legal entities yet. You can also report under IFRS.
Does Fiatto issue an audit opinion?
No. Fiatto prepares draft financial statements as a working document and does not audit. If your financial statements require an audit, the auditor carries it out.
