Self-check

Where does your purchasing run on trust today?

Ten questions on who approves, how invoices are checked and who lets money leave the company. For every answer that isn't a clear yes, you see where the risk is and how to close it.

  1. 1.Is it fixed per role and amount who may approve a purchase, including during holidays or sick leave?
  2. 2.Is it impossible for someone to approve their own request?
  3. 3.Does the approver see the remaining budget at the moment they decide?
  4. 4.Is every invoice compared with the order and with what was actually received?
  5. 5.Do you catch a duplicate invoice before it is paid?
  6. 6.Is the bank account number on an invoice compared with the number you have on file for that supplier?
  7. 7.Does a supplier's new bank account number only take effect after a second person has approved it?
  8. 8.Is the person who changed a bank account number unable to release the payment to that number themselves?
  9. 9.Do you know who holds rights that should be separated, such as creating suppliers and preparing payments?
  10. 10.Can you show afterwards who approved or changed what, and when?
